Philadelphia Mesothelioma Lawyers: Ten Year Anniversary of Mesothelioma Awareness Day

The last Friday in September marked the tenth annual National Mesothelioma Awareness Day.  This annual awareness campaign has drawn much support and attention in the last decade.  As a result, gains have been made in research, advocacy, education, funding and treatment options for mesothelioma.

National Mesothelioma Awareness Day has been an important part of educating Americans on the dangers of asbestos exposure and the risk of mesothelioma.  Funds raised in the annual awareness campaign have supported new research and treatments for mesothelioma that were not available in years past.  Newer studies and clinical trials for mesothelioma are developed with monies raised through awareness.

Nothing highlights the importance of bringing awareness to this rare disease more than the fact that critical research is now supported by the federal government.  Unlike in years past, today the U.S. government provides critical funding for important and potentially ground-breaking research that can aid in the treatment of mesothelioma.  Some significant funding include two federal grants, one for $1.36 million and another for $3 million, provided to medical specialists researching mesothelioma.  Federal grants are an essential aspect of mesothelioma research that will hopefully someday pave the way for scientists and physicians to find a cure for the deadly disease.

The tenth anniversary of National Mesothelioma Awareness Day marks many advances America has made in the fight against mesothelioma.  Philadelphia mesothelioma lawyers at Brookman, Rosenberg, Brown & Sandler support efforts to raise awareness and encourage others to make a difference in striving toward a cure for mesothelioma.
